Verus Engineering Brake Master Cylinder Brace - Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ / Toyota GT86 & GR86

I wish I would have read the review about the bolt that goes in from the wheel well. That's a great hack. I finally got it mounted, but there was a lot of cursing and dropping of bolts and washers onto the ground. It feels very solid and seems well designed.

There are a lot of these things on the market and all of them do pretty much the same thing the same way. I picked this one because I like the fact that it has a cup that provides a larger surface area on the MC.

It's also pretty sleek looking which is a plus if anyone ever looks hard enough to see that it is there.

It mounts in a similar fashion to other such products with the exception of the third mounting point which is a bolt that must pass through the wheel well and thread into the device. It is located behind the front suspension and it is a genuine PITA to install. It isn't necessary but once I got started with the thing I refused to give up on that lase screw.

After much Houdini-like contortion several cuts and scrapes on my hands and quite a bit of profanity I emerged victorious.

There is a simple solution that will avoid this hassle:

Prior to installing the brace get a stud with the proper threads (or just cut off a bolt) and thread it into the brace using a drop of Red Loctite. Pass it through the wheel well during the installation and then thread on a nut and tighten it with a ratcheting wrench. Bob's your uncle.

I contacted Verus and they replied that they appreciated the input. Nothing has changed, of course. But that's par for the course these days.
