OVERTAKE

OVERTAKE driveshaft carrier bushings for WRX, STI, BRZ/86/GR86/FR-S. CNC stainless replaces OEM rubber to improve alignment, reduce lash and vibration, and protect U-joints.

Eliminate driveshaft slop and wheel hop with the OVERTAKE Driveshaft Lockdown Kit. Firmer mounting improves throttle response and traction. Fits WRX/STI & BRZ/86.

For bushing removal:
Estimated Install Time: ~1hr depending on experience
The OVERTAKE lockdown kit comes with two sides that comes in 2-pieces per side. The two thinner pieces are for the rear side of the drive shaft and two thicker sides are for the front side of driveshaft.
First we'll do the front portion using the the thicker pieces.
We'll take the larger piece and with the recessed part facing the driveshaft bushing and we'll rotate it in like pictured below.
Next we'll do the rear section of the driveshaft lockdown kit. We'll take the thinner bigger piece and with the recessed side towartds the bushing we'll rotate in.
We'll now connect the backside with the frontside using the shorter, 4mm bolts threading through the rear into the front and we'll just hand tighten for now.
Now with the top of front & back being hand tight we can start on the bottom portion. Thicker piece will go in front, and really can only go in one orientation without it sitting flush.
We'll use the thinner piece in the back and fits similarly, needs to sit flush with rest of kit. We'll now thread in the longer 4mm allen bolts.

Each bolts only needs 9-10 ft/lb of torque.
Make sure tighten the bolts in a star pattern to get them flat as possible.
Now we're done! Ready to move onto the carrier bushing kit.

With driveshaft lockdown kit installed on the car we're now able to move onto the Overtake Carrier Bushing Install.
Remove the two 14mm carrier bushing bolts (once bolts are removed drive shaft will lower slightly so be prepared for that)
Remove the OEM bushings. To break free can use two pliers or a tie rod puller/remover (what we’re using). Make sure to repeat on both sides.
Install new bushings. Thicker side on top with the recessed side on the bottom. We’ll use a 14mm socket to help us hand tighten and thread the new bolt into the car. Repeat on both sides.

Next we’ll rotate the bushings to position the driveshaft as straight as possible and once that’s done we’ll torque the bolts down to 38ft/lbs
Final Thoughts
Significant amount of less movement than compared to the OEM bushings and setup. This should help greatly with securing the driveshaft to reduce any sort of momentum loss that sway was previously causing better power transfer to the rear wheels.
